Like most bands, Me & the Boyz started out as a spin off of another band that was nearing the end of its life back in the early 90's. During this transition, the band acquired a female singer and changed its name to Soul City playing music with more of an R & B flavor. This naming of the band, however, was short lived and Soul City only played a handful of gigs.

The name Me & the Boyz was tossed around for some time before it was was recognized that it should replace the name Soul City. With Soul City a thing of the past, Me & the Boyz slowly developed a style and stage show that was well suited for the club/private party scene.

The first official Me & the Boyz gig dates back to August, 1994. Since then, Me & the Boyz have played hundreds of club, festival, and private party gigs.

The Members
The instrumentation of Me & the Boyz has stayed the same since its inception. The band still has a 7 piece line up consisting of drums, bass, guitar, keys, sax, trumpet, and lead vocal.

Me & the boyz is all about having fun. The cohesiveness of the group can be attributed to each member having a sense of humor on and, sometimes more importantly, off the stage. This type of attitude and camaraderie is very important in any working band. So expect nothing by a good time at every Me & the Boyz performance.
